DREAMBUILDING
Many volunteers with various occupations come to Child Care Alliance and speak to our members regarding their particular professions. Each individual discusses with our Kids Klub members the educational requirements, job responsibilities, and answer any questions the members may have. Guests who have spoken and shared their professions with the program members are: doctor, accountant, chef, beautician, police officer, veterinarian, ballet teacher, interpreter for the deaf, dental hygienist, nurse, lawyer, maintenance worker, nail technician, photographer, computer technician, helicopter pilot, and many, many more. Child Care Alliance believes this first hand exposure gives our Kids Klub members the opportunity to begin focusing on future vocational possibilities.
SKILL STREAMING
Our Kids Klub members participate in skill streaming groups. Subjects that are discussed on a regular basis are the following: anger control, good decision making, the definition of a bully, getting along with others, real friendship, sharing, self control, feelings, alternatives to aggression, accepting consequences, peer pressure, goal setting, problem solving and positive self esteem. Within the group, modeling and role play are utilized, and the members identify and discuss what they have seen. Sometimes a current issue or conflict can be approached in the same manner with the members discussing solutions and/or alternatives. Child Care Alliance believes that constant exposure to these types of life lessons empowers our members and assists them in the future.
AFTER-SCHOOL HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE
Our teachers assist each group with any homework they have. If a member doesn't have homework on a particular day or have finished their homework, an educational packet will be given. When a parent, teacher or staff member identifies a deficit in a particular academic area, additional materials that focus on the deficient subject matter are placed in that member's educational packet. Each child has a folder where their work is maintained. These folders are given out upon the child's arrival and given back to the teacher when it is time for the child to rotate to another area.

LEARNING CENTERS
Dramatic play, reading, computer, arts and crafts, fun packets, educational games, science, listening center, poem writing and manipulatives are some of the centers available. Each center is designed to promote productive learning and creative thinking.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Our members participate in basketball, bowling, relay races, team building games, parachute play, baseball, football, double dutch, volleyball and much, much more. These activities are designed to promote a sense of fair play, teamwork, cooperation and overall general health and fitness.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are an essential part of our program. They assist the program in all the areas by reading to our members, helping with homework, assisting with arts and crafts or recreational games, and speaking about their particular professions. Our volunteers come from all ethnic backgrounds. Their interaction promotes sensitivity and cultural awareness among the Kids Klub members.
BALLET CLASSES
Patricia Cross teaches ballet to our members four days a week. Miss Cross received her degree in dance at Skidmore College in Saratoga, New York. She danced with the Anyahaza Ballet Company in Minneapolis and also studied in Montreal, Canada. She has taught dance thirty years and has choreographed forty ballets. Ms. Cross originally taught ballet to Kids Klub members twice a week, but has had to expand her class to four times per week because of the children's interest. There are classes for all three age group levels and also a boy's class. Discipline, creativity, teamwork, positive self esteem and a sense of accomplishment are all positive results that a Kids Klub member experiences through the art of dance.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Kids Klub members in grades 3 and 4 who exhibit good behavior, good decision making skills, and positive attitude are allowed to be a part of the Leadership Team. Team members help in all areas of the program. Members receive first hand experience of helping others, responsibility and positive self esteem. Child Care Alliance believes allowing our Kids Klub members to see themselves as leaders promotes and actualizes a positive self image.
INCENTIVES
Child Care Alliance Kids Klub members have goals to work toward daily and weekly. Goals focus on following first request first time asked, positive staff and peer interaction, completion of homework and educational packets, body control, participation in all activities, and positive attitude. Kids Klub members who meet all their goals with very little difficulty receive a larger prize. Goals met with a little difficulty yield a medium prize. Kids Klub members who meet some of their goals and make a reasonable effort receive a small prize as we want to reward the effort. A Kids Klub member who has a major infraction (i.e. fighting or 3 days of goals not met in their week) will not receive an incentive. Positive ways to meet their goals are discussed with our Kids Klub members at this time.

Child Care Alliance gives an average about $800 per week in incentives to our Kids Klub members which equals over $41,000 per year. Child Care Alliance believes that when a child experiences success, he/she will continue to seek to experience success again. Child Care Alliance also feels strongly that incentives give each Kids Klub member a sense of accomplishment, positive self esteem, and a sense of pride when they share what they have earned with their parents! Child Care Alliance's goal is to continue to provide a positive environment where Kids Klub members can experience success!
Child Care Alliance is a well-rounded, structured, nurturing program. Our commitment to the children, their families, schools, its teachers and the community continues to grow, every year. Our program and its staff provide positive praise, encouragement and a general positive environment for our members, so they can grow and challenge themselves to excel in their future! Our goal is to evolve and change to continue to be of service as the needs of this community change!
